Mean to Be

 Sometimes we aren’t aware how to handle the turmoil of those dark oceans formed inside us  by every dent we keep receiving when we are neglected by the ones we look up to. At that stage, we have no one else to rely on. It feels emotionally exhausting at such an age we often find ourselves either holding back or crying our hearts out in silence, those stories known only by our pillow. And we grow into more bottled people, struggling to showcase what’s pinning us down. But with time, self-reflection, and learning to trust ourselves after many breaks, we begin to understand what we keep looking for outside has always lived deep inside. Somewhere within, we all feel this. We just need to accept it and love ourselves more openly when faced with such robust situations. To work through what hurts, to label it instead of pushing ourselves to be regulated by others’ preferences. Because in the end, our emotional harmony is in our hands.
